Operation Lincoln

Mark has asked the Home Office to continue funding Operation Lincoln, the West Mercia Police investigation into failings in maternity care at Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust.

It is vital that investigations can continue into the tragic baby deaths identified by the Ockenden Review.

In response, the Minister of State for Crime and Policing confirmed that the Home Office provided West Mercia Police with £2.7 million of Special Grant funding for Operation Lincoln in 2021/22, and is considering a request by West Mercia Police for additional funding in this financial year.
