I was delighted to visit Newport Cottage Care Centre to catch up with the team about their work and their plans for the future.
On a typical day, about 30 elderly people from Newport and the surrounding area visit the centre. This provides an opportunity for them socialise and for families to receive respite from caring responsibilities.
It was great to see the centre's new minibus, which was bought with funds raised by supporters of the Newport League of Friends.
My thanks to the 18 staff and many volunteers at Newport Cottage Care Centre for everything they do for elderly people, including those with dementia, and their families.
