The Wrekin Schools Funding 2023

The Government has announced the highest school funding in history and £2.6 million extra for schools in The Wrekin!

The new funding is part of a new £2 billion investment this year and next for primary schools and secondary schools in England.

Every state school in England will receive extra cash. A typical primary school will receive an extra £35,000 while a typical secondary school will receive an extra £200,000.

In total, the schools budget will be £58.8 billion in 2024/25, meaning this Government is putting more money into schools than any government in British history. It also means that school funding is set to rise faster than forecast inflation in both 2023/24 and 2024/25.

Schools will receive their first payment next month and can choose how to invest the extra funding.

The remainder of the £2 billion funding boost will be used to support disadvantaged pupils, boost local councils’ high needs budgets and help special schools, making sure every child with special educational needs receives the support and high quality education they deserve.
